- You need 3 slice of bacon, diced.
- Prepare 1/2 of onion, finely chopped.
- Prepare 1 clove of garlic, finely chopped.

- Preheat the oven to gas 4 / 180C / 350°F.
- Fry off the bacon until crispy then remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and drain, reserving 1tbsp of the bacon drippings.
- Fry the onion in the drippings for around 3 minutes then add the garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent.

- Remove the apple cores with a sharp knife. Don't cut all the way through, the apples need a base or the filling will leak out. Aim for a hole about 1 inch wide and 2 inches deep so your coring 3/4 of the apple.
